Forgetful! but it may not suggest alzheimer's

Each of us forgets things. There are times when we may walk up to the kitchen for a glass of water but, may land up with a knife in hand.



Such activities where you forget many tasks and things are a part of your normal everyday life.



But it does not mean that you or your family and friends have Alzheimer's.



Mild loss in memory may occur in people above sixty years of age. It actually is a part of the aging process and should be treated as normal.



"Aging affects memory and may change the manner in which our brain stores information. Therefore, it becomes hard for a person to recall the stored information," informs Dr. Satnam Chabbra, a neurosurgeon.



Alzheimer's could be a part of you if it is present in your genes. It affects your brain and may cause severe memory loss. Advance in age increases the risk of getting Alzheimer's.
